Longest week of the year.
Football for 4 straight days is too much. We had two matchups that were close up until the end, one higher scoring, one lower.
But what I wanted to point out here is, the absolute importance of the bye week. This was legitimately the worst of fantasy of all time, with Sunday having the least amount of touchdowns scored maybe ever, but at least in a very long time.
Our two top seeds enjoyed a little peace of mind, while us peasants had to fight for scraps.
And I want to also point out, our top two seeds would have lost if they had to face anyone else’s team this week. But that’s the beauty of the bye. They earned it. That’s why I would’ve done legitimately dirty things to get that bye week, but it didn’t work out.
Nonetheless, we got good matchups this week.
The Ruggs and the Furious (129.74) vs. Better Call Wall (139.84)
In the words of great philosopher Dwayne Carter Jr.:
“Un-fucking-believable, Lil Wayne’s the President.”
I mean what the fuck, Ave. How do you literally not start an RB2 in the playoffs and still win? These are unprecedented levels of luck. I’m dumbfounded.
Ave has literally scored the least amount of points, and also had the least amount of points scored against him. It’s really incredible, actually.
Mark Andrews got you here, and he didn’t disappoint.
Christian Kirk was the only Cardinal to show up for work, and that put you over the top.
Danny, I know this is a tough way to go out. Not having Lamar suit up was tough enough, and then watching Mike Evans pull his hamstring and leave the game early would have sent me over the edge.
You had a good year, and a lot of good teams across the country lost in heartbreaking fashion this week. Unfortunately it took an extra day to find out this is how it ended.
And for the last time this season, we play our league’s favorite game.
Team Pezzato (156.48) vs. Cero Miedo (179.92)
What an up and down week it was in this matchup. Thursday, I went to see Spiderman and missed what was probably the most exciting game of the year, and the opportunity to see my favorite receiver score 32 points.
Then Saturday night, Kevin got to watch my soul leave my body in real time at the end of the Colts game, when Jonathan Taylor scored 13 points on a single play after being contained most of the night. On top of Hunter Henry looking like prime Tony Gonzalez and scoring 25 points.
Sunday afternoon, I felt great watching Paige’s team underperform, only to see Ja’marr Chase score one single point, and Cincinnati’s kicker kick multiple 50 yard field goals.
Monday night, I watch in agony as Kirk Cousins only throws for 87 yards, only finding K.J. Osborn for 21 of those, and not being able to get the Vikings in field goal range moat of the night.
And on the other side, the Chicago Bears failing Justin Fields at every possible opportunity. Thank God he managed to throw a touchdown on the last play of the game, and get some garbage time stats on that last drive.
And finally Tuesday, where I couldn’t even bear to watch, so I took a nap, and woke up to see Cooper Kupp has scored two touchdowns for me.
A true roller coaster of emotions for me over the past 5 days. It was worth it.
And sorry Paige, third time was not the charm.
