If you used Zion’s fantastic debut and 4/4 from three shooting night to put down Ben Simmons, you disgust me.
If you watched a rookie phenom make his first real NBA appearance, and your first reaction was to insult Ben Simmons, I want you to find me in real life so we can fight about it.
I am real life mad about it. I’m sick of it. Every God damned day I get on Twitter and there’s people who can’t dribble without looking at the ball trying to explain to me why Ben Simmons is bad at basketball.
He is one of the best passers in the game. He can guard four different positions at an all-NBA level. (If he doesn’t make an all-defense team that’ll be a whole different issue entirely.) He can effectively run an offense when you don’t have a plodding inefficient big man clogging the lane, or jacking up and missing those three pointers you guys love so much.
Yes, we get it. He doesn’t shoot threes. You want to know what’s happening when he’s not shooting them? He’s not missing them. He knows what his strengths are as an athlete and plays to them. He doesn’t willingly try to do something he’s bad at, just to be patted on the back by all of the experts on Twitter.
I bet all you people bringing up the fact Ben has made two threes this season couldn’t make two NBA range threes if you were locked in the arena all night.
I bet you couldn’t make a left-handed layup.
I bet you couldn’t run a suicide.
You can’t even touch the backboard and make a layup at the same time.
I’m fed up. And I have time for everyone on Twitter who has an issue.
And as for Kevin O’Connor…

It’s sad that because of you, we know if you put Paul Rudd and Adam Driver’s faces together they would be ugly.
Goodnight.
